Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I have you clean my tile & grout when I can simply mop it?
A. Mopping alone cannot achieve the kind of results we can. In fact, when you mop your tile you often make the grout dirty. You may get the tile surface clean but the dirt on the mop gets ground into the porous and rough grout actually making it worse. We power down and focus on the grout for a deep and powerful clean.
Q. How often do you have to clean the grout once it is color sealed?
A. We recommend you should clean your floor once a week using Grout Kleen’s NEWtral Tile & Stone Cleaner. When cleaning the floor it's important to change your mop water when it appears dirty. Always use a mop to agitate cleaning agent on grout surface. Dry grout with towel or terry cloth. Should any area have dried up surface stains simply spot clean with straight cleaner.
Q. How often do you have to re-color the grout after first application?
A. Depending on conditions and with proper maintenance, the grout color seal can last for up to 10 years or more.
Q. What items does Grout Kleen clean?
A. We specialize in cleaning wall and floor, tile and grout.
If you have tile, we can clean it!
Q. Can you guarantee the results?
A. It is impossible to guarantee how clean a given area will come. Some tile floors are 30 or more years old and have never had a comprehensive cleaning. However, even with these old floors we can often achieve great results breathing new life into your tile. If the grout does not come as clean as expected, we would recommend a grout stain to achieve consistency rather than a clear sealer.
Before you replace it you should try restoring it, it may save you thousands.
Q. Do you offer any warranty on the color seal?
A. We offer a 2 year limited warranty on our color sealing process and can extend it for up to 15 years with an annual maintenace cleaning plan.
Q. I'm thinking of selling my home, should I put a new bathroom in or restore it?
A. Most real estate investors agree that the 3 most important rooms in determining a homes value are the Kitchen, Bathroom and the master bedroom. You can spend tens of thousands to totally replace these rooms but often you will likely see little profit after deducting these costs. However, if you spend just a few hundred restoring these key rooms you can add thousands to the value of your home and put money in your pocket! Even if you are not selling, proper maintenance is important to maintaining your homes value and beauty and can prevent major problems before they happen.
Q. Wouldn't it just be easier to replace my tile floor or wall tile?
A. There are many downfalls to replacing your bathroom or kitchen tile. First, the huge cost. Replacing a bathroom in the New Jersey area will cost you from $5,000 to $10,000 or more. Furthermore, you will have to give up your privacy and deal with work crews. You may also have to obtain building permits, deal with local inspectors and the huge mess and headache involved with the gutting of your bathroom. Next, you will have to buy all the needed tile and decide on a style for your new room. All this can take several weeks. It takes very deep pockets to install new flooring. There's the up front expense, the cost of down time and the agony of construction headaches.
Not only that, putting down new flooring does not fix the problem. Eventually, you'll be right back where you started with old dingy grout.
The Grout Kleen solution can prevent the problem and make your grout and tile look like new again.
